Parents moral and legal responsibility for the actions/needs of their children

INTRODUCTION
Most of us someday are going to be parents. Some of us already are and they actually have known howdifficult it is. The word has origin in the Latin word parere during the early fifteen century, meaning to give birth.And it is that being a parent is not only conceiving them and covering their basicneeds. A child needs time, passion, love, but also a lot of responsibility. Many needs have to be covered by the parents and also a great deal of actions will be performed by the children and, you knowwhat? We are responsible for them.

Legally, it is stated in the Chilean Constitution that the parents are responsible of the actions and omissions committed by their children aged between14 and 17 years old, even do they will not be imprisoned, but required to pay a fine.
On the other hand, it is also stated as a duty of parents with their children his keeping, feeding, education,happiness and health.
But beyond the legal terms, there is a long set of moral obligations and responsibilities that we, as parents must carry out with children. And personally, I am of the thinkingthat in parenthood, responsibility and conscience are mixed together, because we consciously decided to create or adopt a new life and therefore we are responsible for preserving it, enriching it,giving values and guiding it in new experiences such as love, knowledge, creativity, sympathy and solidarity, among others. And having said that, a review of the Chilean situation is required.
About 15percent of the live births are children of parents aged between 15 and 19 years old and a 0, 4 percent by people under 15 years old. Most of them are the result of an unwanted pregnancy.
