Resumen
This book explains why innovation is so important for a company and how it can be developed as a company, in teams or individually. Innovation is not only linked with technology but withthe imaginative spirit of people and teams, and the creative and constant attitude people
It is divided in two parts: in the first part, creativity is expressed as a fundamental tool to boostinnovation. The fifteen skills of a creative person are explained (p. 25). A clearly example of a creative profile and an innovating team is Ferran Adriá and his people of “Ell Bulli”:
-they have constantexperimental willpower (dishes on p.41)
-el Taller experimental is formed by industrial designers, chemists, cookers…each person analyses the reality form different points of view and this increasesthe variety of products.
-Ferran Adriá travels the world to get to know about flavors and, thus, get ideas for new dishes. In this way, he is a man with enormous curiosity, who isn’t scared bythreats, adventures or disruptions that have to do with the habitual way of thinking
-the team thinks about new ideas and has the capacity to experiment with them, make them better and turn them intoinnovations that customers can consume.
- they have passion for being different.
-good relationship of their team: they all value the work mentality in the team, the shared leadership, and thefeeling of membership…(p 43)
Then the seven strategies of creativity are explained, as ways to achieve greater levels of creativity, individually and as teams. Lastly, the reader gets to know andunderstands the way that creative teams work, as techniques and methodologies to think with other people and work creatively as teams.
