LESSON TITLE: “The Future” Future Will
Future Going To
Vocabulary: The Weather

TIME ALLOWED FOR LESSONS: 16/20 hours


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1) Talk about future plans.
2) Talk about wishes.
3) Identifie the different uses of the future.

BEHAVIOURALOBJETIVES:

1- Participate en class discussions.
2- Show self-reliance when working independently.
3- Create a life plan in harmony with abilities, interests and beliefs.

CLASSROOM LAYOUT AND GROUPING OF STUDENTS:
- Place: In the classroom.
- Individual –Work in pairs – Whole class.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES:

a) LESSON SET:
1- Description of the photo.Brainstorm details about the picture – Elicit meaning of new words
2- Grammar Will: Revision of offering to help. (Jumbled dialogue)
3- Vocabulary: The Weather. – Match the words about the weather to the symbols.
4- Skills: “Life in the future”. – Guess predictions about the future.


b) TEACHNIQUES AND ACTIVITIES:
1- Listen, read the dialogue and answer.Put the event of the film in the correct order.
Roleplay: Offer to help.- In pair make up similar conversation
2- Grammar Will:
Read and complete the conversation. Listen and check.
Pronunciation: listen and repeat.
Practice a conversation.
Speaking: work out your own fantasy.
Grammar Going to:Read the text “My future plans” and match with the person.- Correct sentences. – Cover the text and ask questions.
Read the quiz” Are you a planner or a drifter?”Read the key then tell another pair about your partner
3- Vocabulary :The Weather
Listen “ What will the weather be like in different cities?
Find out: Look at the map ask and answer abouttomorrow’s weather.
4- “Life in the future”
Reading: Quick read and check predictions.
Check vocabulary.
Detail read. Answer questions.
Listening : Listen to a radio programme and answer.
Speaking : In groups, which of the predictions do you think will happen?
Writing : A letter to a magazine about yourpredictions.


c) GUIDED PRACTICE AND REVIEW:
1- Roleplay : Offer to help
Put the conversations in the correct order
Use the verbs in the box on your own ideas.
Write the conversations.
2- Grammar Will:
Put the words in the correct order.
Complete th sentences with Will, Won’t.
Complete the conversationwith the phrases.
Put the questions into the correct order. Then write the answer. Use Will or Won’t.
Read the predictions and guess the real ones. Check your answers
Write 6 predictions about your life.
Look the Horoscopes and complete. Read your horoscopes. Do you believe it?
3- Grammar Going To:
Put the words into the correctorder.
Complete the text with Going to and the correct form of the verbs.
Complete the conversation using Going To.
Comunication: Future plans quiz: “How confident are you?
4- Reading: Your opinion....
Find the meaning of these words.
Complete the interview and find the answer in the text.
5- Writing: write a letter toa magazine.
