Every teacher is responsible for provide a good education to her/his students. This is why is so important to come every day to the classroom prepare and ready to educate our students for build in them citizens of good in the present and in the future. For accomplish this, is so important have resources to help teachers seek for help and orientation when need it. Some of the resources that I willbe using for my personal and students benefits are: A professional in the field, I come from a family of teachers but one of them is the reason of why I want to become a teacher, my aunt Wilda Cruz with 20 years of experience in Elementary Education. An organization, The Association of Teachers of Puerto Rico, this organization had been helping teachers for a century in Puerto Rico. Internships,this is the number one on my list, be in person in a classroom and learn more about students behaviors and teachers techniques. Volunteering, a big clue for become a success teacher learning from others and from experiences.
My aunt Wilda Cruz like I said in the previous paragraph had been teaching in an Elementary school for 20 years. She had been really successful and she was also my 4thgrade teacher. When I decide to enrolled to college for become a teacher she always had helping me giving me good advices about what to add to my curriculums, activities, how to treat my students, how to implement good discipline in the classroom and how to award my students being fair and impartial. “Always threat students the way you’ll like them to treat you”, putting this words on action havecreate in my aunt the teacher of good that she is today. One of her big challenges through her career is to have classroom from 30 to 40 students from 8am to 3pm. I keep asking her how she do it, and her answer is simple, make class fun, make the material fun so they can stay calm and concentrate in the class, award them when they meet the class standards and create activities where the students canget out from the same routine every day. When I become a teacher she will be my number one professional in my list when is time to look for a good advice.
The Association of Teachers of Puerto Rico is one of the largest social organizations in Puerto Rico. His militancy in favor of the rights of Puerto Rican teachers, have made, for a century, a creditor of respect and prestige of the PuertoRican community as a labor-professional institutions more relevant in our country. After a century of stories, struggles and victories, the Association is prepared to advance a new agenda for educational change for Puerto Rico, establishing itself as an educational institution, labor and professional whose main objective public education that is accessible, effective and enhance the construction ofsocially engaged citizens. This organization provide teacher the opportunity of received training in any changes in the technology of educational programs, provide funds to create activities and fight for the teachers rights when something is not fair. Internships, the goal of a teaching practice for teacher training and performance is to connectstudents with the professional field, familiarizing them with the methodological processes, administrative and functional organic-educational institutions. The training process of future teachers is paramount, but one of the most relevant aspects, in my opinion, is linking with future teachers with the educational reality, as the go to do their internship at various educational institutions, studentsinvolved in the teaching-learning process of real classroom, and there is just the relationship with the educational establishment for a limited time. Field practices are essential, and that is where the student realizes if he really has a vocation, and it is the instance where you can practice all the theory you have compiled, for being a good teacher / a should be considered the spirit of...
