PROFESSIONALIZE THE RELATIONSHIPHAND-HEAD-IMAGINATION IN THE DOMESTIC FIELD

The "Cooperativa Sociale Educativa Paideia", has been active in northern Italy for the past 10 years and has acquired a particular experience in professional courses, approved by Regione Lombardia: basic courses for pastries, courses of specialization like pastry techniques and Master in cake design with sugar paste and plastic chocolate.
The majority of theparticipants are Italian women (79%) with a fair percentage of foreigners: 53% have a diploma, the 25% a college degree.
The students usually decide to take up this challenge for personal interest or for professional reasons, as they wish to capitalize on their manual and creative talent to contribute to the family budget.
We have closely examined the results of these ten years' activities throughresearch and a direct approach with the course participants and we discovered the positive aspects of this experience on them, both professionally and above all on the personal side within their families and in their social sphere. For many of them the participation to these courses, which require reflection and personal involvement, has brought about a new
maturity in their relationship withfamily and friends.
Others have found in pastry making a concrete way to express their creativity, elaborating cake design, thereby feeling more satisfied and fulfilled, due above all to the familiar environment of the courses.
Those, who in opening their own business, though modest, have had the opportunity to open up to new professional horizons, exchanging experiences and making new friends.
Somemother participants have tested themselves because they consider pastry and, more down to earth, making cakes a way to share time and play with their children.
Others had the opportunity to put to use the knowledge and experience which they obtained in finding a job in the confectionary industry, collaborating with pastry shop owners, making friendly and pleasant relationships with colleagues atwork.
We asked ourselves the reason why this activity, more than others, encourages the growth of the personal-social identity,and we have identified three significant factors that characterize it:
a) taste for beauty, because beauty is a profound need inbred in the human person
b) the ability to humanize that women in particular are able to express even through materiality
c) the care forthe physical-psychical well being which is characteristic to women
From this study we can deduct that women, through the accomplishment of their talents, manual, creative and artistic and their sense of aesthetic are able to give to the world that surrounds them something beautiful; and in doing so they reach satisfaction and a personal fulfillment that they are able to transfer into the socialsphere, thanks to their inborn attitude to create a caring relationship with others.

La Cooperativa Sociale Educativa Paideia , che svolge la sua attività nel nord Italia da dieci anni, ha acquistato una particolare esperienza nell’erogazione di Corsi professionali – riconosciuti dalla Regione Lombardia- di pasticceria: sia corsi di pasticceria di base, sia corsi di specializzazione, quali ilcorso di Tecniche di Pasticceria e il Master in cake design con pasta di zucchero e cioccolato plastico .
