DEFINITION OF ENGINEERING
Engineering is the application of science to the optimum conversion of the resources of nature to the uses of humankind.
The creative application of scientificprinciples to design or develop:
• Structures
• Machines
• Apparatus
• Manufacturing processes
• Operate methods
• Economics of operation
• Safety to lifeand property
• Full cognizance for design
The words “engine and ingenious” are derived from the same Latin root, ingenerare, which means “to create”
