A couple of months ago I applied for the Sentri program and I was declined because like 25 years ago I wasgoing to work to Del Mar, California. And to sustain myself and receive a little bit of money I sold jewelry in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. In that moment I was not selling a whole bunchof gold I was only selling a little bit of Gold and I remember crossing the border 25 years ago with 3 gold rings that I had in my purse. And like you know gold is expensive so I totally forgotto take it out of my purse so when I got to the officer and me he asked me: “What are you bringing from Mexico?”, not being aware that I still had the rings on me I opened the purse and said tohim with a lot of confidence “Nothing officer, look inside”
In that moment I remembered that I had them in the purse in a little plastic bag and of course it was too late and the officerfound 3 rings thinking that I was trying to enter with them in the United States of America. The officer in that moment asked me: “W hat is this?” And responded what I already described in thefirst paragraph in this letter that I sold them to help me a little bit with money but in Tijuana not in USA. And I apologized in that moment so I paid a fine of $50.00 dollars that’s Why I askfor forgiveness on my wrong doing in this wander of attention on my behalf.
I do need The Sentri Program a lot like I imagine you understand me being 71 years of age with diabetes and kneeproblems I have to walk and use a walking stick to move around. My husband crosses by the sentri lane in car and I walk and make all that line and its joust so painful for me to do that for hourseach time that I’m in Mexico via the ready lane by Otay Mesa border crossing.
