Hy undai Accent F uel F ilter Replacement

Q. Hello Vinc ent : I am c ont ac t ing you
regarding t he exac t plac ement of t he f uel
f ilt er on my 2003 Hyundai Ac c ent . I rec ent lyjac ked up t he c ar and saw a blac k plast ic
box next t o t he f uel pump, is it loc at ed in
t here? Just want t o be sure prior t o t aking
it all apart . Seems odd t hat t he pump is
exposedbut t he f ilt er is hidden.

I looked f or a Chilt on's book but t he library had not hing past 1999 and I c an't f ind a sc hemat ic on t he int ernet . A pret t y good c ar f or
$9000.00. Do ineed t o bleed of t he syst em? I never had any problem wit h f uel pressure on my 1993 F est iva whic h i owned f or 10 years,
just disc onnec t ed it and replac ed, amazing gas mileage wit h t he "Fest ie"

A. Here is t he loc at ion and proc edure for replac ing your fuel filt er:
1. Reduc e t he int ernal pressure of t he f uel lines and hoses by c omplet ing t hef ollowing operat ions.
Af t er removing t he rear seat c ushion, disc onnec t t he f uel pump harness.
St art t he engine. Allow it t o st op by it self , t hen t urn t he ignit ion swit c h OF F .Disc onnec t t he bat t ery negat ive (- ) t erminal.
Connec t t he f uel pump harness c onnec t or.
