A Roof for my Country

Ceiling is a Latin American organization nonprofit, led by young people from different countries in Latin America, which is dedicatedto promoting awareness among people under thirty years regarding the importance that the needy have a home . Special emphasis is placed on (or shacks) in slums to improve their quality of life andconducts social empowerment programs. To date report having built more than 78,000 emergency homes and over 400,000 have voluntarios.
History
A Roof For My Country was the name by which theorganization and apartir born June 2012 renamed "Roof". Latin America is an organization that was born in Chile in 1997, as a natural extension of the "A Roof for Chile", with which they share the vision andvalues. They are organized in a central office, with clear concepts, a common way to work and one mind. In each place embodies the project taking the challenges of poverty in each country. Today isalready present in 19 countries: 1 Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic,Uruguay and Venezuela.
Working in disasters
Roof has supported various countries that suffered disasters like earthquakes. It was the case of Peru (earthquake Pisco - Ica - Chincha 20072), Haiti(earthquake 2010) and Chile (earthquake of 2010), Tropical Storm Agatha in Guatemala (2010).
That was one of the first institutions that responded to help Haiti after the earthquake of 20 103 and thenreceived IDB funds to build 10,000 homes in the country. At the end of 2010 had built 826 homes there.
To get funding do through donations from individuals and companies including some campaignsnovel.
Awards
He has received numerous awards and recognitions, being the most important:
2010 Human Rights Prize of the King of Spain, for the work in the defense and promotion of human rights...
