THE PROFESSOR PROJECT
Good morning. I’d hereby like to share some information about our company.
Well, the name of our company is San Pedro Business. It is an agro exportation CO and belongs to an international conglomerate called Fujitsu. Its nationality is Peruvian. Everybody in my company is Peruvian without exception. My name is Martha De la Rosa and I’m the Chief Executive Officer. I’mfrom Chimbote.
The principal colleagues in our company were my classmates at the university and now we’re working together. Julio S. is the Marketing Director, Yenifer Q. is the Head of Engineering, Maria T. is the Human Resources Manager, Vicente D. is the Financial Director, Giobana S. is the Sales Rep, Jhon H. is the team Leader, Richard A. is the Personal Assistant and Janepth R. is the Chieftechnology Officer.
Our company provides facilities to the farmers of the Santa Valley to sell their products to North America and some parts of Europe. We recruit the farmers’ sons and daughter to work in our company, too. We sell 300 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits every year. We employ 500 people in total. We export our products to Mexico, USA, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal. Wealso provide staff to other companies of our conglomerate. Restaurants, supermarkets and food shops buy our products. Artichoke is the main product we sell and its cost is 10 dollars each kilo. Our company’s telephone is +51 043346062.
Our company gives free delivery and internet ordering services. The return of products by our clients is within 5 days. We are always worried to look for ourcustomers’ satisfaction. Our company supplier is Vikings offices supplies CO because it has a free delivery and an internet ordering service, besides an e-catalogue to download from its webpage.
Our Head Office and Sales office are in Lima because this city is a good place for business contacts. We have a technical centre in Nuevo Chimbote and we have 3 factories in the Santa Valley. Our Company has 3Distribution Centers: One in North America, One in Spain and One in Italy.
In our company there is a car park, there is a Conference room. There isn’t a canteen in the Company but there are good restaurants near the CO.
In a typical CEO work day, First of all I check e-mails, then I start a video conference with my main directors and managers, next I solve the problems of the Company that mymain staff didn’t solve. Finally I plan new strategies for the development of the Company.
In a typical Marketing Director work day, First of all Julio S. checks his e-mail to see the new order forms then he attends to the video conference, next He solves the problems of the Company his staff didn’t solve. Finally He analyzes some competitors’ activities to create new trends in marketing.
In atypical Financial director work day, First of all Vicente D. manages finances, then he asks for financing, next he designates budget for all the business projects of the Company, after that he evaluates budgets, finally he makes balances.
At San Pedro Business CO, tech is very important. We always use modern mobile phones because we can log on to Intranet and Internet. We usually use the GPSbecause we can locate our customers and new cities to export. We sometimes use the Bluetooth because our hands are busy and we can trade with our customers easily. We never use IPods because they are prohibited.
We use new technology, for example NANO ANT is an important micro-robot for internal maintenance of the machines, the ¡Use, a new portable video projector for expositions and video conferencesin an office, the MYG robot selects the good vegetables during the harvest and separates them by sizes.
We use at work order forms, invoices, delivery notes and receipts. We also use business cards to make business contacts and CV’s to recruit new personnel.
Our staff always writes and forwards e-mails. We receive about 30 e-mails a day at work and most of them are important. We prefer to...
