Two Roads Comparing The Auther To Her Book And The Road Not Taken
In this essay I’ll be comparing “The Author to Her Book” and “The Road Not Taken”. I’m comparing this two because in the first one is about someone that has no confidence in herselfand in her work , which is a hard way of living and the second one is about a person who choose the hard way of living but not necessarily the wrong way.
In the story of the Author to her book wesee that the author uses a baby being born and taken care of in a metaphorical sense since this is the way the author refers to a book she wrote, which in essence is like her baby. In the quote “unfit for light”(Bradstreet line 9) the child displays a flaw, which represents how the author sees an imperfection in her work which is the book which she believes is not ready to be published. In thisother quote “feeble brain” (Bradstreet line 1) she is referring to the baby but instead she is really referring to her book again. This other quote “wash the face”(Bradstreet line 13) is veryinteresting because she is saying that she needs to eliminate the imperfections of her book in order to be ready for someone to read it. Rewriting her book is the best way to correct its errors and justthen she will be able to resend it to be published. This poem is very depressing since it shows that the author lacks self esteem and that is reflected in the way she looks at her work. I think it isnormal for an author of a book to polish it from imperfections before publishing it but in her case it seems she is embarrassed of her work.
In the poem The road not taken the author took the roadthat people usually do not take, because it is the hard one. The road that the people usually take is the easy one were they always cheat, steal or lie in order to survive, like in this quote “perhapsthe better claim because it was grassy and wanted wear” (Frost lines 7-8) … “The passing there had worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay in leaves no step had trodden...
