Canto 21

Achilles Revenge is such that it has no intention of forgiving any Trojan. Throw as many bodies in the river that your gutters are clogged. Xanthus, the river god, to protest what happens and Achilles agrees to stop throwing water bodies. Janto seeks help from Apollo, but when Achilles hears the petition, the son of Peleus attacks the river. Achilles drags River downstream to a plain. Janto Achilles almost killed, but the gods intervene. Hephaestus, sent by Hera, turned the plain after that Janto walk away.

            A commotion breaks out among the gods, who observe and discuss human warfare. Ares Athena and Aphrodite protest. Poseidon challenges Apollo, but Apollo refuses to fight for mere mortals. His sister Artemis taunts him and tries to encourage him to fight, but Hera heard and pounces on her.

            Meanwhile, Priam sees the carnage on the battlefield and opens the gates of Troy to let fleeing troops. Achilles pursues but Agenor challenges him to a fight. Agenor Achilles fighting but turns out to be Apollo disguised as Agenor. This allows the Trojans shelter in the city.
