Community gardens are gardens that many people make together. Each people uses a small area to plant flowers or vegetables. Together, they make a community garden.It’s a nice way to have a little piece of the country in the city or the suburbs. In fact, there are over 700 community gardens in New York.
This garden started a few years ago when the city letpeople in this neighborhood use an empty lot to make a community garden. But now, the city wants to remove the garden. The city gave people in New York an empty lot to make a community garden. All thepeople in the neighborhood worked really hard. They planted everything for example: flowers, vegetables and trees.
They worked together and made that beautiful community garden.
In 1994 Bette Midlerand her family move to New York, she wanted to help beautify, the city. In 1996 Bette Midler started organization called New York Restoration Project, this project hires many workers to clean up NewYork. In 1999 the city of New York decided to sell 114 community gardens.

In conclusion, community gardens can be a good form to help our ecosystem.
