Nowadays around the world a huge part of the vegetables that humans eat are produced with a lot of chemicals. This is because with the use of these chemicals, farmer’s production could be increased a lot. Besides, chemicals as pesticides and insecticides are used to protect plants of insects or plagues thatcould affect them. Many times these chemicals used to produces vegetables, causes a lot of damage to the environment and health of people who consumes these products. When these products are disposed into environment they harm de soil, water and its wildlife, sometimes for days, weeks, even years because there no exist a physical or biological process to biodegrade them.
The northwestern regionin Mexico, one of the main states dedicated to this activity is Sinaloa state, dedicated to produce many of the aliments utilized in Mexico and in some parts of United States; this region contributes with the 50% of total exports of Mexico. Principal products are corn and tomatoes but they are produced with a lot of chemicals, due to people in Mexico do not demand for food produced environmentalfriendly. In Mexico the desire of the farmers to produces more at the low price possible combined with the lack of culture of people about environment, is damaging water, soil and ground.
However, there is a little part of the society worried about this, Walt - Mart in some of their stores have organic food, this mean that, those goods were produced without chemicals environmental friendly. Thiscould be a difficult process because all the value chain needs to be modified, since the chemicals producers to the final consumer. For all of them there are benefits that are going to attract them. One way to respond to this problem is try to change the behavior of the consumers in Mexico, because if final consumer demands organic products, all stakeholders will change their behavior to, inothers words, try to create a bullwhip effect with all stakeholders.
