CINEMA

Resum
Aquest treball pretén mostrar quina evolució ha experimentat el vampir, un dels mites que
més fascinació ha creat en els humans, en el món del cinema. Aquesta anàlisi parteix de la
hipòtesi basada en què el vampir ha sofert un procésd’humanització, és a dir, ha passat de
ser un sàdic, espantat per la creu i que beu sang humana, a un vampir més humà, més
vulnerable i insegur, que ja no segueix les tradicions marcades en les pel·lícules
tradicionals. D’aquesta manera, s’han seleccionat un total de 54 personatges que
interpreten el paper de vampir en pel·lícules de diferents dècades, des del 1922 fins al
2012,per tal de mostrar si, amb el temps, han patit una transformació relacionada amb la
seva psicologia, el seu aspecte físic o els seus hàbits quotidians. En conseqüència, s’han
elaborat diferents taules que se centren, cada una, en un dels aspectes esmentats
anteriorment per tal d’aconseguir gràfics que revelin si, en efecte, els vampirs han
evolucionat al llarg del temps i, si alcontrari, s’han mantingut certs tòpics o hàbits, com la
immortalitat. Amb els resultats obtinguts s’ha arribat a la conclusió que els vampirs han
sofert, psicològicament, una humanització, ja que els vampirs actuals han abandonat la
seva faceta diabòlica i cruel per mostrar-se més vulnerables, impulsius i imprevisibles. No
obstant això, han conservat certes marques distintives, com el dode l’eterna joventut, els
ullals prominents, el cos fred i pàl·lid o l’alimentació consistent en la sang. En definitiva, el
vampir es manifesta més proper, però conserva el seu encant i la seva bellesa, mentre que
perd altres qualitats com la virtut de convertir-se en animals o de dominar-los.

This projecttries to demonstrate the evolution that the vampire, one of the legends that
have created more fascination on the people, has experimented in cinema’s universe. This
analysis is based on the hypothesis that the vampire has suffered a humanization process.
Therefore, the sadistic vampire, frightened by the cross and who drinks human blood, has
been transformed in a human vampire,more vulnerable and insecure, who doesn’t follow
the traditions established by the old movies. As a result, 54 characters, who have
interpreted the role of the vampire on movies of different decades, have been selected to
show if this creatures have experimented a transformation related with their psychology,
their physical aspect or their quotidian habits. Consequently, differenttables have been
elaborated with the aim of achieve graphics which reveal if, indeed, the vampires have
evolved over time or, on the contrary, some topics or habits, such as immortality, have
been kept. With the results obtained we arrived to the conclusion that the vampires have
suffered, psychologically, a humanization because the present vampires have abandoned
their diabolical andcruel facet to be more vulnerable, unpredictable and impulsive.
However, the vampires have preserved certain distinguishing marks, like the fangs or the
cold and pale body. In conclusion, the vampire appears more close to humans, but he
maintains his attraction and beauty, but he lost some qualities, such the power of become
or control the animals.
