Lake superior: is the largest of the five traditionally demarcated Great Lakes of North America. The lake is bounded by Ontario and Minnesota to the north and west, andWisconsin and Michigan to the south. It is generally considered the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area. it is the world's third-largest freshwater lake byvolume.
Lake Superior has a surface area of 82,103 km2 which is approximately the size of South Carolina. It has a maximum length of 560 km and maximum breadth of 257 km.Its average depth is 147 m with a maximum depth of 406 m.Lake Superior contains 12,100 km³ of water.There is enough water in Lake Superior to cover the entire land mass ofNorth and South America with roughly 28 cm of water. The shoreline of the lake stretches 4,387 kilometres (including islands).


Lake Michigan is one of the five GreatLakes of North America and the only one located entirely within the United States.It is the second largest of the Great Lakes by volumen and the third largest by surfacearea, after Lake Superior and Lake Huron Lake Michigan is bounded, from west to east, by the U.S. states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.
Lake Michigan is theonly one of the Great Lakes wholly within the borders of the United Statest it has a surface area of 22,400 square miles (58,000 km2),[2] making it the largest lake entirelywithin one country by surface area (Lake Baikal, in Russia, is larger by water volume), and the fifth largest lake in the world. It is 494 km long by 190 kmwide with ashoreline 2,640 km long. The lake's average depth is 46 fathoms 3 feet , while its greatest depth is 153 fathoms 5 feet .It contains a volume of 1,180 cubic miles (4,918 km³
