A chairy Tale:
Watch the video and answer the following questions. We will discuss them in class. Remember to watch the video with sound.
Questions:
1. What was the conflict? The man wanted to sit on the chair but the chair wouldn’t let him.

2. How was the conflict resolved?
The man understood that things couldn’t be made forcibly and he had to benice with the chair in order for the chair to be nice with him.

3. How do you think the chair felt?
It felt used and probably inferior.

4. How does this happen withcultures?
Many cultures think that their own culture is the best. And that it is superior to other cultures. I think maybe cultures that have a higher standard of living or that arewealthier, are the ones that probably feel this way.

5. What different reactions does the man have?
First he got mad and was desperate so he was even meaner to the chair, then he triedto convince the chair by being nice, he played and dance with it, but at the end he understood that if he wanted something from the chair he had to be able to de the same for it.6. Why do you think the chair comes back?
Because the chair knew the man wasn’t a bad person and it wanted to help the man. Just it wanted to make him understand and realize how to benice and treat him right.

7. What is the video saying about power issues?
That more powerful people believe they are superior and that they have the right to treat others asthey wish.

8. It is said that the video reflects real life relationships, and communication, how?
Many times we think too much in ourselves in our own good and well-being. And weare not able to place ourselves in other people’s life, in how they feel, and how they think, so that is a big problem for relationships as well as for a good communication with others.
