Pre-jardin

Activities:

1) The class will learn a song in which they can identify strong and flat sounds. They will listen to the song with the two different type of sounds and then will bedivided in two groups. Each groups will have to identify one of the two types of sounds in the song. At the end of the activity the class will sing the song together.

2) The teacher will put ablindfold on one student and will place somewhere in the classroom. She will then pick two other students and give each a percussion instrument. The child with the blind fold will then be asked to follow theinstrument he is told (one of the two percussion instruments).

3) The teacher will choose a song with a cheerful rhythm. Then each student will be given a percussion instrument of their choice. Theteacher will then goes over the song with the students and give the indications for when to play their respective instruments until they learn and memorize the melody of the song. At the end thestudents will play their instruments along with the rhythm of the song by themselves.

4) The teacher will teach the class a game called “identify the instrument”. The class will choose five percussioninstruments and five sound objects. Each student will have a turn to be blindfolded, and will then be asked to identify the instruments and sound objects by touching them.

After learning and identifying that instruments have determined and undetermined sounds the followingactivities will be done using the metallophone.
