Essay
Introduction:
In this Essay I will write about 4 animals that are in danger of extinction.We have to take care and save the animals , also stop the pollution and not waste water.In 200 moreyears a lot a lot of species will be extinct if the rates will continue like this. WE HAVE TO STOP!
1. Dolphin Irrawaddy
The Irrawaddy dolphin is at danger of extinction. There are only 85examples of this species left . When an adult dies it is very difficult to recover it fast.
Even its natural habitat is the ocean colonies have been found in estuaries and rivers like the Mekong, Ganges andIrrawaddy where it receives its name.
The Irrawaddy dolphin has a rounded head with no distinctive peak, and a flexible neck. The color can change but is common gray and blue.
The length is about1 m at birth and 2.3 m at full maturity. Birth weight is about 10 kg. The adult weight exceeds 130 kg. Life expectancy is around 30 years.
They feed with shrimp and other crustaceans, fish andoctopus.
Threats : Hunt , habitat loss , polution of the oceans , entaglement in fishing nets and catch for the captivity industry.
These animals mostly die because of the nets for catching the fisheswhere they get entagled and die.
This dolphin is in the redlist in the part of vulnerable like is show in the image.
2.Mountain Gorilla
The Mountain Gorilla is at high danger ofextinction . They are 700 examples of this species left.
The Mountain Gorilla lives in Africa : Virunga Mountains Mgahinga (Uganda), Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda) , Virunga National Park (DRC) and in thejungles of Bwindi (Uganda .)
The mountain gorilla has longer hair and darker than the rest of the gorillas. Its skin is very very similar to the human. Adult males have more prounounced bony crestson the top an back of their skulls.
The Males can reach up to 1.5 and 1.8 meters high and weigh between 204 and 227 kg.(Males are x2 in weight and are a little more tall than females).
