History
The history of Mexico is an important backdrop for understanding modern day Mexico. A mix of cultures and traditions remain in place today and continued to permeate everyday life. The history of Mexico begins perhaps as much as 30,000 years ago. Sometime during the last ice age nomadic tribes of hunter-gatherers from Asia first crossed the Bering Strait and entered the Western Hemisphere. A country located in the southern portion of North America, the social organization and rudimentary agriculture developed gradually, with thecultivation of squashes, chili peppers, beans and maize beginning perhaps as early as 6500 BC.

The various civilizations of Mesoamerica are distinguished from others elsewhere in the New World by a variety of common cultural developments including hieroglyphic writing, commerce and trade, an extensive knowledge of astronomy, a highly accurate calendar system, and fascinating religious beliefsfeaturing a complex pantheon, a ritualistic ball game, and human and animal sacrifices.

Since the Spanish Conquest in the 16th Century, Mexico has fused its long-established native civilizations with European culture. Perhaps nothing better represents this hybrid background than Mexico's languages: the country is both the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world and home to thelargest number of Native American language speakers on the continent.

Currently the country of Mexico is made up of 31 states. Many cities in Mexico are known throughout the world, such as Mexico City, Guanajato, Acapulco and Cancun. The capital of the country is Mexico City, which is also the largest city in Mexico, and one of the largest in the world.

Population
The recently conducted 2010Census showed a population of 112,336,538, making it the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world.

Mexico is ethnically diverse, the various indigenous ethnic groups and European immigrants are united under a single national identity. The core part of Mexican national identity is formed on the basis of a synthesis of European culture with Indigenous cultures in a process knownas mestizaje, alluding to the mixed biological origins of the majority of Mexicans.

The category of (indigenous) can be defined narrowly according to linguistic criteria including only persons that speak one of Mexico's 62 indigenous languages, the constitution not only recognizes the 62 indigenous peoples living in Mexican territory but also grants them autonomy and protects their culture andlanguages. 

Climate
Mexico is a large country and the climate of Mexico varies substantially depending on the region of the country that you are visiting.

The climate in the desert regions are typically very hot during the day and cool at nights. The desert regions can often be windy as well.

In general, Mexico City enjoys spring weather year-round, with the evenings somewhat cooler, especiallyin winter. June to September is the rainy season, which usually includes short and heavy showers in the afternoons. Median temperature of 15 °C (59 °F) with pleasant summers and mild winters.

Bordering the Gulf of Mexico are lowlands characterized by hotter, more humid climate than the higher elevations of the country. The climate of the tropical beaches of Mexico varies between the dry andrainy seasons with yearly median temperature between 24 and 28 °C (75.2 and 82.4 °F). Most of the country experiences a rainy season from June to mid-October and significantly less rain during the remainder of the year.
