Deanna’s Dilemma




1. Based on Tuckman's group Development model, the purpose of the group showed its evolution mainly during two stages: first during the stage of Forming when they agreedin the first session to maintain the initial rules proposed by the facilitator and to participate actively discuss how they felt for the purpose.
Also showed support for the purpose during theNorming stage, some integrants have to give up their own Ideas and agree with Others in order to make the team function as was the case for Jeff, where other members of the group volunteered to help talkto their parents about their goals or the case of Terry where advised to make their presentation to school assembly
program.
Finally, the purpose was reinforced with unilateral desire by thegroup to continue indefinitely and keep the group supported each other in their common and individual goals of both.

2. Maintain the confidentiality of the group even in their personal lives.3. The facilitator was found with a high resistance within the group because of fear that had members that confidentiality was broken and that his family came to know all the talk during thesessions. The facilitator had to explain in more detail the policies of confidentiality and in which cases it is possible to break it as well from the beginning to establish an open-ended group.4. In addition to the default rules for the development of the group, I would propose to ask the participants during the first session that they would consider other rules important to discuss becausewe are working with adolescents who are usually accustomed to having their own rules.

5. The primary concern was the confidentiality. In my opinion the success of a group goes hand in hand withthe effective development of the first session, mainly from the detailed explanation and discussion of the rules to establish within the group.
