La Universidad De La Salle Bajío and Campus San Francisco del Rincón cordially invites you to the 2012 session of De La Salle Model of United Nations (MUN), which will be held at ourCampus on Saturday November 10th starting at 8 a.m.

This academic exercise of the United Nations Conferences will provide participants with the opportunity to take on the role of delegatesfrom different United Nations member countries and together debate on significant and current issues in the international relations arena. Participants will acquires a deeper comprehension andinsight into foreign affairs and the nuances of diplomacy, as well as improve their communication and public speaking skills.

De La Salle MUN 2012 will feature a total of 7 committees. Thecommittees and their topics are as follows:



I. Security Council
a) Consolidation of peace and security in Mali.
b) Military bases in foreign countries and effects on the sovereignty of thehost country.


II. Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISC)
a) Territorial disputes and underwater resources.
b) Regulating private military contractors around the worldIII. Economic and Social Committee (ECOSOC)
a) Promoting the Millennium development goals in Nations emerging from internal or international conflicts.
b) Debt crisis: AusterityMeasures- Europe and the Rest of the World.

IV. UNICEF
a) Addressing the problem of infanticide.
b) Famine around the world- A call to action


IV. Human Rights (HR)
a) UN effectivepresence in the Middle East.
b) Addressing forced birth control methods.
V. World Health Organization (WHO)
a) Addressing Mental Health in regions of conflict.
b) Addressing vaccinedelivery and disease eradication efforts.

VI. OEA
a) Feminicidio en Latino América.
b) Participación de Naciones Unidas en los procesos electorales de América.
