Good morning everyone, let me introduce myself my name is Ivonne Romero, and today I’m going to talk about my country; Colombia
Colombia is a magical country.... full of colors, flavors, places,and good people. It’s located in Northern South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, between Panama and Venezuela, and bordering the North Pacific Ocean, between Ecuador and Panama.
We have a flagwith horizontal bands; they’re yellow, blue and red.
This is the president of Colombia. His name is Alvaro Uribe Vélez.
The official language, Spanish, is spoken by all but a few Amerindian tribes.Spanish as spoken and written by educated Colombians is generally considered the closest to Castilian in Latin America.
Colombia's capital city, Bogotá is located in the center of the country.
Wehave a lot of festivals and celebrations. We have celebrations for almost every single day of the year. The Barranquilla Carnival, the Cali Fair, the International Book Fair, Rock at the Park, Colombiamoda, the Medellin flowers’ festival, the Iberoamerican Theater Festival, which by the way, it´s the biggest one in the world.
There are two oceans: Atlantic and the Pacific with beautifulbeaches. Different regions in Colombia have all possible climates any time of the year. The cities near the coast are warm to hot and Medellin has the perfect weather year round (65 to 80 Fahrenheit), butBogota has a much cooler climate. Most of the cities and communities are built with a flair toward Spanish colonial architecture and modern architecture. Colombia also produces exquisite coffee,countless beautiful women and orchids.
We have art, Master Fernando Botero´s Art... the man who has made the world love the chubby ones... We have musicians like Juanes... a Grammy winner... one of theworld´s top sellers. Shakira the girl, entries countries are falling in love with her songs and her dance moves. Carlos Vives the only performer who has scaled up... with the vallenatto and rock mix....
