Las E.T.S. también llamadas venéreas, son aquellas que se adquieren a través de las prácticas sexuales con personas infectadas.Tienen amplia incidencia y difusión y son de constante incremento a nivel mundial pues están relacionas a patrones de comportamiento promiscuo (relaciones sexuales inseguras, sin uso de protección: preservativos), con parejas múltiples, sin cuidado de hábitos de higiene personal. El problema que genera en el ámbito de la salud pública, radica que algunas de éstas enfermedades pueden encontrarseen estadio de cronicidad asintomática, desconocidas o ignoradas por el mismo paciente, que ante parejas sexuales ocasionales no prevenidas, facilita su contagio, haciendo prácticamente imposible la erradicación.
“Son las únicas enfermedades que se adquieren con placer, sin tomar en cuenta el posterior displacer y a veces graves consecuencias que acarrean a la salud ”.
La nucleación de lasenfermedades venéreas comprende por lo general, la sífilis, la blenorragia o gonococcia, el chancro blando, el linfogranuloma venéreo, el condiloma acuminado (o papiloma venéreo), y algunas ectoparasitosis como la pediculosis púbica (ladilla). Existen otras infecciones transmitidas por contacto sexual, que sin ser catalogadas de venéreas, ocasionan molestos y recurrentes problemas a las parejas....
