O valor é 11,58% superior ao registrado em 2009, quando 5.305 bilhões ingressaram no País pelo turismo internacional.
Em dezembro, com o ingresso de 607 milhões de dólares, a variação foi de 17,64% em relação aomesmo mês de 2009, quando entraram US$ 516 milhões em gastos de estrangeiros – dezembro de 2010 obteve o melhor resultado registrado até hoje. “O recorde histórico mostra que estamos no caminho certo e a estratégia de fazer que o turista fique mais tempo no Brasil tem funcionado”, afirmou o ministro do Turismo, Pedro Novais.
Para o presidente da Embratur, Mário Moysés, o aumento demonstra que oBrasil tem se destacado no turismo mundial, já que representa um crescimento duas vezes maior que o crescimento do mundo. “Este é um dado muito importante para medir o êxito da economia do turismo de um País e mostra que o Brasil tem se qualificado cada vez mais no competitivo cenário internacional”, disse.

Mas o início de 2010 já apresentava resultados que mostram uma rápida recuperação do turismo internacional no Brasil. Apenas no primeiro bimestre do ano, os desembarques internacionaisaumentaram 16,5% em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado. E a entrada de divisas, principal indicador de resultados, bateu recorde histórico de 63 anos, para o primeiro trimestre do ano, com a entrada de 1,65bilhões, 16,4% a mais do que janeiro a março de 2009.
