Armed Conflict in Rwanda

Tolerance is the primary value that a community needs to have to be able to get along between them, without it thereis no place for a community to be, to succeed. For several years in Central Africa, in Rwanda there has been an absence of tolerance leading toconflicts leading to wars, civil wars causing the death of thousands of men, women, children, etc. It all begin more than 500 years ago, when 2communities, the Tutsis and the Hutus, who peacefully lived separately from each other until the Tutsis decided to invade the Hutus. The Tutsis, who were all warriors invaded the homeland of the Hutus and fought them until the desisted and gave up. Even though they lived in harmony forlong, long years, after Belgium lost power of the area in the 1950’s. A civil war organized by the government exploded between them causing death tothousands of persons. Because of this, the fear of the people of dying in hands of a government, many of the inhabitants of Rwanda fled from thecountry to Tanzania, Burundi and Zaire. The war keeps going on, the United Nations and many other power countries are now involved in theproblematic, Hutus and Tutsis keep dying in account of starvation, epidemics, etc. Although the war keeps going on, and it seems that for many moreyears it will keep on going, we still pray for these communities to overcome the hatred for each other and finally may live in peace once again.
