Epistemology

Is the branch of philosophy that is responsible for studying all about knowledge. It comes from the Greek words Episteme and Logos, meaning knowledge and study. So theEpistemology is the study of knowledge.


Branches of Epistemology

1) The logic of science, analyzes the logical structure of scientific theories.

2) The Semantics of Science, analysis, systematizationand interpretation of scientific concepts.


3) Theory of scientific knowledge as opposed to other types of knowledge (technical, technological, artistic, moral, philosophical, etc..)

4)Methodology of science, or study of the methods and techniques that are specific or particular sciences.

5) The Ontology of Science, and systematic analysis of the scientific positions.

6) TheAxiology of Science studies the value system of a particular scientific community.

7) The Ethics of Science, moral standards to be met by members of a scientific community.

8) The Aesthetics ofScience, study of the aesthetic value of scientific research.
