School Dress Code


The dress code at Indio Middle School is unfair because they won’t allow students to wear some of the clothes that are unapproved. Thedress code that we have now is really dense, it requires a few rules for example, girls aren’t allowed to wear spaghetti straps, halter tops etc., and for the boys they may not wear oversized, baggyjeans or shorts. If they do that’s violation of the dress code.
I believe that the school shouldn’t have a dress code. What the principal should do is have an assembly and allow the students to say whatthey have in mind and what they’re opinions are about this dress code and why we shouldn’t have it. They should listen to what these students have to say about this dress code and why we should beindependent of what we wear.
My first reason would be that we should be allowed to wear any clothing that we want, for example girls should be allowed to wear spaghetti straps and tank tops as long asif there was something over it ,but its not a bad idea for the girls to wear that kind of clothing at school.
My second reason goes for the boys’ dress code. How they dress isn’t a problem, butthey’re not allowed to wear their pants baggy and they can’t be oversized. I have no idea why they put that rule if they still do it any way. The students should be allowed to tell the district that itdoesn’t matter what we wear. We come to school wearing whatever we want, but what counts is that we go to school for an education. Also, I don’t even get what’s so wrong with having a shirt that has agraphic of a weapon on it. What’s the reason that we’re not allowed to have that on a shirt? W hat’s the reason for it? Where’s the explanation?
My third reason is that what we might have in mind isthat the parents should also care about what their child has to say and they should agree that its alright for girls to wear spaghetti straps, halter tops, shirts draped over the shoulder, tube...
