RESUMEN El uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) es en la actualidad una de las alternativas viables para propiciarmejoras en la enseñanza universitaria. Al igual que en otros sectores de la actividad social, las TIC se han incorporado en el ámbito educativo y aunque su uso es desigual y en ocasiones restrictivo y limitado existe un acuerdo en valorarlas como herramientas de gran ayuda para favorecer la incorporación de aspectos innovadores en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Diversas investigaciones enesta área han conllevado a determinar que la incorporación de las TIC en la Educación Superior se ha realizado de forma paulatina y su grado de generalización ha sido variado según se trate de procesos de gestión, administración, investigación o de docencia. Las TIC están generando cambios en los métodos de enseñanza, en las formas en que los profesores y estudiantes se relacionan con elconocimiento y en las formas en que los agentes involucrados interactúan. Desde esta óptica, la incorporación de las TIC a la oferta de formación docente debería basarse en una reflexión profunda de las necesidades formativas del profesorado universitario. Los docentes deben actualizar sus conocimientos y habilidades continuamente, en función de la reflexión sobre su praxis y del valor que le otorgue aesos recursos teniendo siempre como meta mejorar la calidad, eficiencia y adecuación del proceso enseñanza y aprendizaje. ABSTRACT The use of the Technologies of the Information and the Communication (TIC) are at the present time one of the viablealternatives to cause improvements in university education. Like in other sectors of the social activity, the TIC has been gotten up in the educative scope and although its use is unequal and sometimes restrictive and limited an agreement in valuing them like tools exists helpful to favor the incorporation of innovating aspects in the education processes and learning. Diverse investigations in this areahave entailed to determine that the incorporation of the TIC in the Superior Education has been made of gradual form and its degree of generalization has been varied according to is processes of management, administration, investigation or of teaching. The TIC is generating changes in the methods of education, the forms in which the professors and students are related to the knowledge and in theforms in which the involved agents interact. From this optics, the incorporation of the TIC to the supply of educational formation would have to be based on a deep reflection of the formatives necessities of the university teaching staff. The educational ones must continuously update their knowledge and abilities, based on the reflection on his praxis and of the value that grants to him to thoseresources always having as it puts to improve the quality, efficiency and adjustment of the process education and learning.
