Definición:
La conferencia es un discurso normalmente expositivo, aunque también puede contener elementos argumentativos, de carácter formal, qué se realiza en una sola intervención durante un tiempo amplio y ante un público numeroso. Debe durar entre 45 a 60 minutos y en casos concretos de 20 a 30 minutos.
Como variantes de la conferencia tenemos la charla, la ponencia, lalección magistral, la sesión informativa. Tienen en común el objetivo de informar sobre algo, ofrecer unos conocimientos, unas pautas de actuación, exponer unos resultados, datos tendencias o aclarar algún tema.
Pueden ser:
Divulgativas.- reúnen un público heterogéneo y por ello son más generales en cuanto a contenido.
Especializadas.- se dirigen a sectores secretos, a expertos o estudiosos...
