The London 2012 OlympicGames and Paralympic Games are taking place in London and across the UK this Summer, and we need talented and dedicated people to be a part of them. With London 2012 there are all sorts of jobopportunities for all sorts of people, including those currently out of work and students. More than 100,000 people will be paid to work on the Games, all of them with different backgrounds, skills andexperiences.
From catering to IT, stewarding to cleaning, there are a wide range of paid roles (besides those opportunities for voluntary work) available during what’s known as the Games time. Some ofthese contracts might be longer than the “Games” duration, starting a few weeks before the great events, but you should expect that most of these positions will only exist during the Games. Recruitmentis underway and if you are keen to get involved, you will find something you can apply for. If you want to apply, you should meet the following basic requirements: • • • • • Fluency in English(knowledge of other languages being a plus, mostly for roles with greater contact with the public); Willingness to work in diverse and multicultural environments; Solid customer service skills; Strongcommunication and teamwork skills; Great enthusiasm for sports and for the Games.
