MY COUNTRY IS
REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA
Republic placed in southern Africa that bordersfor the north on: Namibia,Botswana,Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Suazilandia; in the south with the Indian ocean, and for the west with the Atlantic Ocean. Lesotho is an independent State nailed in thewestern part of the country.
The republic of South Africa has three capitals:
1. Pretoria - (administrative)
2. City of Cape - (legislative)
3. Bloemfontein - (judicial)
THE FLAG
Theflag is formed by two horizontal bands of equal with`n red and blue, separated by a green central band that is divided in the shape of Y horizontally.
The arms of this green Y, end in the corners ofthe left side. This Y has a black triangle in the left side, and the triangle is arounded with a yellow triangle too. The red and blue zones are separated for the Y and by two narrow white bands.THE SHIELD
The form of the shield remains defined by the fangs of elephant to be closed in the top part.
In the top space, the bird goes out.
Inside The shield two human figures appear.
THEPOPULATION
The population of South Africa is nowadays 43 millions according to information of Statistics.
The racial composition is the following:
blacks 77 %
White 11 %
half-caste 9 %Asians 3 %
GOVERNMENT TYPE
The government of South Africa acts under a parliamentary system inspired by the Britisher.
The president of South Africa Thabo Mbeki is the Chief of State andthe Chief of Government.
LANGUAGE
South Africa recognizes up to eleven languages as official languages, though the principal two are of European origin: the English used as vehicle ofcommunication between all the South Africans. The afrikáans derived from the Dutch.
Other official languages are :
ndebele, sesotho , sotho septentrional, tswana, swazi, tsonga, venda, xhosa and zulú...
