A leader is a person who needs to convince others to follow him and in this case in particular, a business leader should lead his coworkers into a good path to generate a successfulcompany. For that, he needs a very noticeable and defined personality. The three articles speak about how this personality can be characterized, with the purpose that readers can identify the differenttype of leaders. In diverse ways, all this frontrunners that are mentioned in the articles know how to manage to be effective with their own abilities. “They all have a high degree of what has come tobe known as emotional intelligence.”- (What makes a leader P3)
It is very curious how these articles can have the same purpose to be written, but at the same time have such a different ideas of howdoes a fruitful leader needs to be. “Leadership 5” is based on the idea that the “top” leaders are the ones that have humble personalities combined with professional will; “They are a study induality: modest and willful, shy and fearless.”- P15. “Narcissistic leaders” presents an opposite definition, saying that a leader usually is narcissist, which means that he looks for power and admiration.This article also presents the negative side of a leader of this kind, “The danger is that narcissism can turn unproductive when, lacking self-knowledge and restraining anchors, narcissists becomeunrealistic dreamers.” P6 The third article, “What makes a leader”, doesn’t define a specific type of personality but a way to take advantage of it thru emotional intelligence, “Truly effective leadersare also distinguished by a high degree of emotional intelligence, which includes self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skill.” P1
