PRICE STRATEGY
Due to the varying number of orders thatorganizations process, our prices are not fixed. Phenom Youth Sports will in most cases at least match if not beat any local or national competitor. Phenom directly handles each stage of productdevelopment so we retain the ability to negotiate our prices with what customers are willing to pay. There are rarely additional costs that customers will need to pay. The only time that price willincrease is when customers begin to greatly customize their jerseys using more than three fabric types or when additional or custom screen printing in excess of what is standard will be used. All costs ofmaking the jersey are accounted for in the negotiable price—shipping and screen printing included. EDLP works great for Phenom Youth Sports. Since Phenom youth sports handles every bit of thedevelopment process we have the flexibility of allowing us to keep our prices low. ELDP works great for our market and target group because our market allows us not to keep a running inventory—thus eliminatingmultiple expenses such as maintain an inventory and storage. Our jerseys are custom made upon order. This also allows us to keep prices low because we have factored in materials and shipping into theminimum price that we are willing to sell a jersey for. Deb’s comments: This does not sound like EDLP, but rather competitive parity. They make custom orders so they set the price at what they thinkthe competition would charge. Do they investigate the comp? Do they have any kind of price list that gives prices for the “typical” order, that would be useful to include in this analysis.
