What happens? | Percy has just been told that if hetalks they will tell everyone about him wetting himself. They know he will talk and JC grabs him. Pulls him to the bars, Percy’s mouth is open as JC has him by the throat. The disease material goesinto Percy. He drops his baton. He now looks blank and is crying! He walks down and shoots Wild Bill, he is tackled and the disease exits his mouth. Paul walks to JC and is invited to hold his hand tosee what the ‘bad man’ had done. Paul has vision of the 2 girls Wild Bill kills. | |
What shots are mostly used? | Low and High Angles. Mid shots and CU. Panning and Tilt shots. | Low Angles(looking up to JC) shows that he is in control and dominant over Percy. CUs are used to show the emotions and reactions of the characters. Paul’s concerned and confused, JC looks in pain, Percy limpcrying scared. MS are used to show the actions particularly of the girls and when Percy shoots Wild Bill. This is a tense scene and there are many reaction shots to show the characters feelings. |What special effects are employed? | Slow motion, light explosions, flash back, The disease material that exits Percy | The slow motion and exploding overhead lights when JC is holding Paul’s handemphasises that something dramatic and miraculous we later learn that JC gave Paul ‘a bit of myself’ at this time and it leads to his longevity.The flash back informs us of the past events and ties theloose ends of the story together; Bill killed the very girls that JC will ‘fry’ for. The disease material is a computer generated special effect. It is actually the disease that JC took from thecommissioner’s wife. It emphasises the miraculous nature of what has happened. |
