The Baker Hughes MVP™ multi-phase gas handling pump stage is an importantaddition to the Baker Hughes XP Performance series line of pumps. The innovative MVP gas handling pump design expands the operating range of electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems and is the mostefﬁcient gas handling pump of its kind in the industry, allowing continuous operation of ESP systems in extreme gas conditions and reducing the tendency for underload shut downs due to gas interference inthe pump. Our MVP features a unique, patented impeller design that enables the pump to continually operate while producing substantial lift in ﬂuid conditions exceeding 70% free gas. The MVP pumptechnology was extensively tested in our high pressure gas test loop. This unique, highly instrumented state-of-the-art testing facility is the only one of its kind in the industry and is used to aid thedesign, development and evaluation of gas handling technology.
