English Oratory

Facebook is a social network service, in which users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages. Additionally, they can join common interestgroups, organized by workplace, school, college, or other characteristics. It all sounds pretty perfect, doesn’t it?
Good morning, my name is Javiera Donoso, and I would like to talk about “Cyberbulling”.

Cyber-bullying has been defined as "when the Internet, cell phones or other devices are used to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person", so Facebook isjust one of the many ways you can cyber bully another human being.
Their are many levels of cyber bullyng. Most of us, might see this subject as something that it is very far away from us.
Truth is,that it is much closer than what we think, because everytime we publish something about another person, we are compromising their image.

You can cyber bully someone else in many ways, such as:uploading a picture of the victim, in which he or she appears doesn’t look appealing; publishing offensive comments in their profile page with or without the intention of humiliating the victim; send outmessages pretending to be the victim in an attempt to damage that person’s friendships; and creating a fake account of the victim, with the purpose of humiliating him or her.

Technology givesbullies the ability to humiliate their victims and amplify their actions beyond a school’s borders. And while codes of conduct had been set in schools, in order to stop cyber bullyng, the issue isfurther complicated, because when bullying begins, it is supplemented by the Internet.
Teachers are sometimes not aware of what might be happening online, they are unsure of the boundaries of theirresponsibility with cyberbullying, or are just un-equipped to handle it even if they do know about it.
