Que Son Las Collocations Y Para Qué Sirven
El término “collocation” se refiere a la combinación de dos o más palabras que suelen ir juntas en inglés. Dependiendo de la combinación, podemosdistinguir entre “grammatical collocations” y “lexical collocations”
La colocación gramatical (grammatical collocations) resulta de la combinación entre una palabra principal (nombre, adjetivo o verbo)más una preposición, o to+infinitivo, o that+ clause. Los lingüistas hablan de 8 tipos de colocaciones gramaticales:
Noun+preposition: apathy towards, dissatisfaction with, differences with, reasonfor...
Sustantivo + preposición: apatía hacia, la insatisfacción con las diferencias con, razón por la ...Noun+to infinitive: I felt the urge to do it, It was a pleasure to see you, they made anattempt to do it.
sustantivo + de infinitivo: Sentí el impulso de hacerlo, fue un placer verte, hicieron un intento de hacerlo.
Noun +that clause: We reached an agreement that she would come with us.Sustantivo + esa cláusula: Llegamos a un acuerdo que iba a venir con nosotros.
Preposition+noun: by chance, at random, in pain.
Preposición + sustantivo: por casualidad, al azar, en el dolor.Adjective +preposition: keen on sports, fond of music, hungry for knowledge, angry at the children.
Adjetivo + preposición: aficionados a los deportes, aficionado a la música, con hambre de conocimiento,enojado con los niños.
Adjective+to infinitive: it´s nice to be here, it´s necessary to work on that issue.
Adjetivo + para infinitivo: Está bien estar aquí, ES necesario trabajar en ese tema.Adjective +that clause: They were afraid that they wouldn´t win the match.
Adjetivo + esa cláusula: Tenían miedo de que wouldn't ganar el partido.
