Goodmorning ladies and gentlemen, our group will talk about Ceviche, specifically the Shrimp Ceviche. History, Ingredients., utensil for use , cooking method and Preparation.
Ecuadorian ceviche history
Hereare several hypotheses regarding the origin of this name:
* Ceviche or Cebiche, some people attribute the origin of the name, to the english sailors who reached to the Peruvian ports to taste this dish . They called it "SEA BEACH" (Fish on the Beach) and the name is derived from that name.
* Another source noted, that fish , onions and lemon originated "ENCEBOLLADO" , and from the combination of thesetwo concepts born "ENCEBICHADO" and then the word "ceviche".
* Ceviche , comes from the Quechua word "siwichi" that its meaning would be fresh fish .
* The ceviche was bornas a derogatory nickname for “ bait” . Used by (usted quiere decir que ese nombre fue usado por los marinos árabes? Si la respuesta es afirmativa, use la palabra by en lugar de for) ) the Arab sailors, and later by (aquí seaplica la misma pregunta) Europeans, they eat the bait using lemon to "cook" cold on board their boats.
The ceviche, cebiche , seviche or sibichi is the name of different dishes withfish or seafood and various dressings, which are part of the cuisine of several Latin American countries bordering the Pacific Ocean, such as Peru, Ecuador , Mexico, Panama and Chile.
