The article show the characteristics of this law and give information about it, There are some statistics of how many people left the Army in 1993 when this lawwas enforced.
“Allowing gays to serve openly in the military would not pose insurmountable problems for the order of discipline of the armed forces” (Bob Barr 1). This quote says that allowing gaysto serve their country will cause no problems at all with discipline, morale or respect.
“The military has discharged more than 11,000 people under the current policy, and in the process has lostmore than 1,000 service members with “mission-critical skills” including 58 Arabic linguists”(Bob Barr 1) A lot of people that the Army need are being discharged and this let the Army with less importantpeople to defend and fight for the country just because of their sexual orientation.
“The ban on gays openly serving in our Armed forces is hurting a military that is already stretched thin”(BobBarr 1) This law is taking away people that the Army need now, and that could serve and fight for the country they want.
