short summary: The story revolves mainly around four lovers, the Duke of Athens and his wife, a group of amateur actors and their experiences with the world of the fairies including the king andqueen of the fairies and their respective servants.

Characters:

Lysander: Lysander is a young man who is in love with Hermia. He is well-educated and obedient but is willing to escape with his loveand leave everything behind.

Hermia: Hermia is a young woman from Athens, daughter of Egeus and Demetrius' future wife by her father's will. However, she's deeply in love with Lysander and is alsowilling to escape with him.

Demetrius: Demetrius is a man who was once in love with Helena, but now seeks the hand of Hermia. He despises Helena even though she loves him very much.

Helena:Helena is another woman who ends up alone after Demetrius decides to marry Hermia. She admires Lysander's love for Helena and desires the same for her and Demetrius but she is constantly refused by him.Egeus: Egeus is the father of Hermia and he has chosen Demetrius as her daughter's husband. He is forcing her to marry him even though she loves Lysander and both men come from good families andare wealthy.

Theseus: Theseus is the Duke of Athens and sees to the obedience of the laws of the city. He is planning to get married to Hippolyta.

Oberon: Oberon is the king of all the fairiesand is married to Titania, the queen of the fairies. He wants an indian child under the service of Titania for himself but is refused. He has a servant named Puck apart from all his other fairies. Hischaracter is also said to affect the weather, as well as Titania's.

Titania: Titania is the queen of the fairies and she is married to Oberon. She refuses to give the indian child to Oberon andthey discuss heavily because of it. Because of this, their character is affected and so is the weather.

Puck: Puck is a fairy with magic powers and servant of Oberon. He is clever and mischievous...
