Inca Trail (4 days)
Leaving: Daily Transport: Private bus and train Length: 4 Days Day 1: Between 7:00 - 8:00 A.M. we pick you up at your hotel and we go to km 82 by bus. From here on it will take us about 7 hours of hiking (13km) to reach the first campsitein Huayllabamba. Day 2: Physically a tough day covering 16km and climbing 2 high passes. Warmi Wanusca, at 4,200m, is the highest point of the trek. Breathtaking and stunning! Included is a visit to the ruins of Runkurakay and Sayacmarca. We will be camping in Pacaymayu. Day 3: Today is a relatively easy one: we walk only 11km and most of the route is flat and descending. We visit thearchaeological sites of Phuyupatamarca, Intipata and Wiñaywayna, the latter being our last campsite of the trek.

The Inca Trail, with Machu Picchu as its final destination, is the best known and most popular hike among tourists. The total hike is about 45km and it takes four days altogether, including a one day visit to the ruins. The natural scenary is breath-taking. With views of snow capped mountains, thecloud forest and hiking between stunningly preserved ruins, it is an unforgettable experience.
Day 4: After breakfast, we depart to Inti Punku, the entrance of the old Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. This will take us about an hour and a half and it is an unforgettable experience observing the ruins from that point. In Machu Picchu we have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours and in theafternoon we travel back to Cusco by train. Arrival time in Cusco is estimated around 9:00 P.M.

Inca Trail (2 days)
Leaving: Daily Transport: Private bus and train Length: 2 Days Day 1: You will be picked up from your hostal between 5:45 to 6:00 A.M. and transferred to the train station for the train to Machu Picchu. There is beautiful scenery along the way! We will get off at km 104 where the two day hike starts. We will starthiking around 10:30 A.M. First we will visit the ruins of Chacchabamba (2,250m); after that Wiñahuayna. Around 4:00 P.M. we will continue our trip to the Puerta del Sol (Sun Gate or “Inti Punko”) where we might see one of the most beautiful sunsets of your life! From here we will continue our hike to Aguas Calientes where we will sleep for the night in a hotel.

This is the short version of thefamous and stunning Inca Trail, for those who have less time available but still want to do this unique trek. We start at km 104 and we walk till the ruins of Wiñahuayna. After a visit to the ruins, we go to Inti Punku from where we will have a fabulous view over the Lost City of the Incas. From here we walk down to the village of Aguas Calientes where we will stay for the night. Next day we departvery early, with the first bus, to visit Machu Picchu, at 2,650m above sea level. Around 3:30 P.M. we take the train back to Cusco.

Day 2: After a very early breakfast we will take the bus to arrive at the ruins of Machu Picchu before sunrise and the arrival of most tourists. (You also have the option to walk up). Our guide will give us a guided tour of about two and a half hours. After that wewill have some free time to explore the ruins, wander around and have lunch (not included). You have to be at the train station in Aguas Calientes at the latest by 3:15 P.M. to catch the 3:30 P.M. train back to Cusco. You will arrive in Cusco at approximately 8:30 - 9:00 P.M.
