SAYING HELLO
Hi! → Informal way to say hello.
SAYING GOOD-BYE
•
When youleave someone, you usually say Good-bye, See you soon, See you later, See you tomorrow, etc.
•
When someone goes to bed, you usually say Good night. You can also say Sleep well or Sleep tight. Don’t say Good night
when you arrive somewhere, only when you leave (at night).
Examples:
ALEX : Good morning Nancy. How are you?
NANCY: Hello, Alex. I am fine. Thanks.
ALEX: Good-bye, Nancy.See you next week.
NANCY: Bye. Have a nice weekend.
MR. MILLER: Good afternoon, Ms. Perez.
MS. PEREZ: Good afternoon, Mr. Miller.
MR. MILLER: Good night, Ms. Perez.
MS. PEREZ: Bye-bye. See you tomorrow.
ETHAN: Hi, Emily.
EMILY: Hi, Ethan.
ETHAN: Bye, Emily. Have a nice evening.
EMILY: Thanks, Ethan. You, too.
