SUMMARY OF THE CONFERENCE
TRANSCULTURAL TRANSLATION PROBLEMS

This conference was taken place on July 19th of the current year and students of sixth and eight semesters wereparticipating in it as well as some teachers of the career and actually the lecturer was a German doctor called Erna Pfeiffer. Basically, the conference was about some problems thattranslators face when they translate some texts because of definitions and also because of the correct use of them according to what the author wants to express.
Another important aspectabout this conference was the difficult translation from one language to other ones, being mentioned Italian, French and German, the last one being also explained better because of thenationality of the lecturer.
In addition, through this conference we could appreciate some knowledge of literature, being mentioned some important authors of books and poems, and one ofthem were Pedro Reino, who had a really good career in the literature field and actually the lecturer mentioned that with people like him, America and Ecuador are having good writersand authors of books.
Furthermore, the lecturer presented some statistics that show that the genre being most interested for becoming translators is “women”, so this is having a greatinfluence nowadays.
Finally, at the end of the conference there were some people who commented on this interesting topic and the most relevant opinion was about the use of theinternet that mostly young people use for translating texts, so this was immediately answered and of course the lecturer said that this is completely wrong, that we have to translateeverything for ourselves because there are a lot of words and phrases that have to be necessarily worked in context and also that some things depends on the country and language of the people.
