El niño que no habla
Se trata del niño cuyo lenguaje oral no se manifiesta a una edad en que losdemás niños hablan normalmente, siendo esta ausencia del lenguaje la única alteración evidenciable.
El límite entre el retraso fisiológico y la mudez patológica estaría entre los 18 meses y los dos años de edad y, como características, podemos señalar:

• Aparición de las primeras palabras después de los 2 años.
• La unión de palabras comienza después de los 3 años.
• Vocabulario muyreducido a los 4 años.
• Desarrollo comunicativo del gesto yde la música.
• Lenguaje telegráfico (ausencia de determinantes y nexos gramaticales).
• Desinterés comunicativo.
• Comprensión superior a la expresión.
• Niños/as sensibles, tímidos, faltos de seguridad.

Retraso puro del habla: sería un retraso grave del lenguaje, con falta de maduración en las habilidades...
