Ser joven implica un periodo de muchos cambios en su vida, el individuo experimenta, reacciona, descubre, crea y toma decisiones.
Es el momento en el que inicia su desarrollo físico, emocional y social.
A partir de éste momento la conciencia del futuro está presente.
Durante el proceso el sujeto debe formar una identidad que lo defina dentro de su marco social, así como buscarla aceptación e integración con sus semejantes.
La juventud a su vez es marcada por el inicio de la adolescencia, también conocida como pubertad y es definida como la etapa de la vida en que los órganos reproductores masculino y femenino están listos para funcionar.
