1. What do you understand by MULTIMODAL and BLENDING learning?

Thanks to development of technology and its influence on education which created theoretical opportunities for fundamental changes in language learning was needed a learning theory where language may be optimized and also have a model to guide the application of technology
Multimodal learning style: it refers how variousprocessors in the Brain communicate with the working memory, which is influential in the learning Process It means that the more different ways you learn something the more you will really learn remember or understand it.
Besides, it supports that multimedia exercises can be designed to take advantage of how neural processes work together in the learning process.
So, the activation of multipleprocessors at the same time can increase the probability that cells wire together to form the mechanisms that guide from comprehension to automaticity and long-term learning.
This learning style requires:
1. A frequent repetition over an extended period of time that leads to long-term learning
2. A well-designed multimedia lesson which can deliver optimum language through a fluid combination ofvisual, auditory, and contextual inputs. It helps the interaction with learners and the gathering data about their level of comprehension and activity.
3. Multimodal learning can also increase motivation, especially if the content is varied and extended at each step.

Blending learning style:
CALL is now moving toward a blended model where the computer provides the necessary optimal input andpractice activities, and the classroom provides the human element -- accommodating and utilizing the needs and lives of the learners in a social context. So in a few words both classroom and multimedia activities play an essential role in a blended model
Besides, it is said that Without the social environment of the classroom, learning is tedious, unmotivating, and too restrictive to meet the needsof learners but also without the effective practice provided by well-designed computer courseware, language learning is slow, and discouraging, where the results of language learning is given in a traditional way where is emphasized on Memorization and conscious rule learning.

So, the blended model can reduce language-learning time by depending on the following variables:

1. Scheduling ofpractice sessions for optimum frequency and duration.
2. Quality and design of practice sessions, supported by coaching, feedback, and suitable learning tasks that can lead to automaticity.
3. Sequencing of content and an appropriate mix of skills so that the strategic support elements of language are developed in a well designed learning path.
4. Classroom sessions that provide extension andpersonalization of the language models, including the assignment of reading and writing exercises.
5. Suitable technical infrastructure and support.

To conclude, the quality and design of the classroom sessions must be supported by coaching, feedback and monitoring. Well-designed programs can help the teacher to provide coaching and practice strategies but also materials that are constructive inthe learning process.

2. How could you start integrating CALL into the language curriculum?

Due to the expansion of technological advancements such as multimedia technology and the Internet. Learners are allowed to access a more authentic learning environment and use the four language skills trough multimedia, despite of the wide use of the Internet and Information technology in everydaylife it is impulsive to speak about efficient integration of the technology into language teaching and learning
Although integrating CALL into the language curriculum seems to be a good option for language learning. It is necessary to take into account that it means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class. So, it means that an effective...
