The Department of Registration of the Ministry of the Social Protection informs that in Colombia they exist 35.964 institutions Prestadoras of Health (IPS) and, at the present time, alone 13 have the Unique System of Acreditacion (SUA), of those which, four are located in Bogotá.
For the Ministry, the importance of this Unique System of Acreditacion resides in that it is an opportunity so thatthese institutions are competitive in the international plan, with the purpose of exporting services of health.
Also, it generates competition, that which benefits the users that have the option of choosing that is to say among those entities prestadoras of health that offer the greater levels of quality, above the minimum conditions that it establishes the Unique System of Qualification (forexample, education personalized to the patient and their family and processes to identify the necessities and the patient's care after their expenditure of a hospital entity).
"The importance of this system resides, on one hand in that it constitutes an opportunity so that they are competitive in the international plan with the purpose of that you/they can export services of health, and, for other,it generates competition among the entities to offer better services, that which redounded directly in the users' that will have the option of choosing among those institutions that present benefit but high standards of quality", the directive of the Unique System of Acreditacion explained in Health.
IPS finishes it in being credited it was the Clinic of West due to the strategies implemented indevelopment of the infrastructure and investments in human talent and in the process of improvement and the evaluation of its indicators.
"The Clinic of West fulfills in its entirety the demands of the system of social security of the country, but we don't conform to because the patients are our priority, then we decide to apply voluntarily to this acreditacion. Ademas, genera competencia, lo cual beneficia a los usuarios que tienen la opcion de escoger entre aquellas entidades prestadoras de salud que ofrecen los mayores niveles de calidad, es decir, por encima de las condiciones minimas que establece el Sistema Unico de Habilitacion (por ejemplo, educacion personalizada al paciente y su familia yprocesos para identificar las necesidades y el cuidado del paciente despues de su egreso de una entidad hospitalaria).
"La importancia de este sistema radica, por una parte, en que constituye una oportunidad para que sean competitivas en el plano internacional, con el fin de que puedan exportar servicios de salud, y, por otra, genera competencia entre las entidades por ofrecer mejores servicios, locual redundara directamente en beneficio de los usuarios que tendran la opcion de escoger entre aquellas instituciones que presenten mas altos estandares de calidad", explicaron los directivos del Sistema Unico de Acreditacion en Salud.
