P R E S E N T A T I O N

English II is a subject studied on the second semester of all the specialties of the High School and it is a continuation of English I and the previous subject needed for English III. The curse will be developed through 9 sequences taught three hours per week, during the whole semester.

The content is divides into 3 units with three different topics contained intothem. There will be a partial exam at the end of each unit and there will be a continuum assessment of the students during the classes. Besides, students will have to make some products that will be considered as an evidence of their learning.

The activities presented in the sequences promote communication, interaction and significant learning among students. Students are considered as the mainparticipants of the learning process and they will be guide by a facilitator to achieve the subject’s purpose and the learning objective. Therefore, the facilitator functions are mainly to motivate, promote interaction and communication, give instructions, and monitoring the students work.

Students will work individual and in teams. They will also use selfstudy as an aim to increase and bettertheir knowledge, skills and competences.

The bibliography of the sequence includes many different books. That’s why students will work mainly with photocopies of these books, as well as some of the material the teacher will provide them during the curse.

PURPOSE OF THE SUBJECT

The purpose of English’s subject II is that the students share their past and personal experiences in the English language in an appropriate way.

OBJECTIVE OF LEARNING

The student will apply theknowledge from the acquired English language when communicating his last experiences.

PROSPECTIVE PRODUCT

As an expected product, students are supposed to make appropriate use of the English language in each one of the four skills, through significant activities where the student has contact with his real environment and demonstrate a continuous learning based on his previous knowledge.METHODOLOGY

The English's course will be given in three hours per week during the second semester, from
January 29 th to June 6 th 2009.

Students will carry out activities for a suitable development and practice of the four linguistic skills based on the designed didactic sequences. These activities will allow the teacher to asses the student continuum learning besides the appliance of threepartial exams during the semester.
