Introduction Corrosion is the term used for the chemical or electro-chemical reaction of metals with the environment. Frequentconsequence of this deterioration is the corrosion damage that occurs in structures costing the economy losses in the order of thousands of millions a year. Using the CE105 Corrosion Studies Unit, investigations can be performed on the corrosion or corrosion protection of metals. In particular, the influence of the environment on the progress of the corrosion can be demonstrated. Due to the layout of theunit, metal specimens can be subjected to different environmental effects simultaneously. The unit can be used for training in the materials science or chemistry areas.
